Brand new. Give it a bit of time and it will be mostly black because of the petrol it runs on.

By the looks of it, seems to be powered by petrol. Which is weird, I thought most Swiss houses were getting their heat from granulated wood. My god father, who lives right on the border (French side, near Neuchatel) actually has one, and it's quite awesome.

It's petrol, but rather fuel oil. A less refined oil. Many people are using it in Europe. Here we call it fioul or mazout.

Ok, I was thinking gasoline. We have that here in the US also for places that don't have utility hookup for natural gas. Usually here it's just called fuel oil or heating oil. It's not real widespread due to the cost when compared to wood or wood pellets.
